Pete Rose dies at the age of 83

Famous baseball player Pete Rose has died at the age of 83. He was known as one of the best players in the history of Major League Baseball (MLB). Pete Rose played for many years and had a lot of success. He had the most hits in baseball, with 4,256 hits, which is more than any other player. He was very good at hitting the ball and many people admired his hard work.

Pete Rose started his career in 1963 playing for the Cincinnati Reds. He was voted Rookie of the Year that year. Over the years, he became a 17-time All-Star and also won the National League MVP award in 1973. Pete helped his team, the Cincinnati Reds, win two World Series championships in 1975 and 1976. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and helped them win championships as well. People gave him the nickname “Charlie Hustle” because he always tried his best on the field.

However, Pete Rose had a major problem that affected his life and career. In 1989, it was discovered that he was betting on baseball games, even games involving his own team. Because of this, he was banned from baseball for life. This meant he could not play, coach or be associated with the sport in any official way. The ban also meant he could not be voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, even though his accomplishments on the field made him one of the best players of all time.

Even though Pete Rose was banned, he was still loved by many fans. In 1999, MLB let him participate in a special ceremony as part of the All-Century Team. He also admitted in a book that he had bet on baseball, but he said he never bet against his own team.

Pete Rose will be remembered for his amazing accomplishments in baseball, but also for the mistakes that kept him out of the Hall of Fame.
